Please, Steve, please!!!

I know everyone is going nuts about Sept 12 -- not only will it be the first day that I join my new group at MS (Sept 11 being an all-day orientation), but it is also the day of a surprise announcement from Apple. I can't wait for Steve to tell us what to buy next!!! It is almost 100% assured that it will be a movie-download service in iTunes (with some sites even posting a full list of the titles that will be available next week), but the big question is what the hardware support will be. New iPod? (I'll buy it.) New Airport Express? (I won't buy it.)

I don't really care, because what I want is this. Please, may we have it, Steve? I have semi-publicly stated that if Apple put out a phone, I'd go into a startup business to write killer apps for it. Looks like my mouth and my money are soon to collide.

Dave's Stuff Game: Looked at the full list of titles that will be available on iTunes. Guess which one (and only one) that Dave will for sure buy to at least test out the service (hint: Unlike with the single download from the other video store that I may or may not have tested recently at a place I may or may not have worked recently, this would be something I have not yet seen, but have been wanting to). The prize? Nothin' -- and you'll like it.

Wrong and wrong (Laurel is now disqualified as I told her the answer in person).

I would guess "Hitchhiker's Guide" (which is REALLY bad), but I'm hoping it's "Sky High" which is actually pretty good in a "Galaxy Quest" kind of surprising way. Also, perhaps you haven't seen "Narnia." Those are my guesses, because I assume you've seen all the other actual good movies on the list.
Oh and that analyst is pumping the stock for his own gain.

Wrong! I saw HH Guide in the theaters, and yes, TERRIBLE. I'm not even sure what Sky High is. And Narnia -- never. If I were on a desert island with only a DVD player, four movies' worth of power, and DVDs of Narnia and all the Lord of the Rings movies, I'd definitely start learning to swim.

Okay, I'll guess The Royal Tannebaums. Mum

Nope. That movie was so terrible I couldn't even watch more than an hour of it on TBS or whatever awful station was playing it. Not that the correct movie is any better.

One more guess and then I give up...Finding Nemo. It was so cute-it made me cry! Mum

I guess Finding Nemo. Mum

Nope! I haven't seen Nemo -- we do already have it on DVD, though (Laurel is a bit of a Disney/Pixar fan).

Well, I hope today's yawner of an announcement didn't burst your bubble too much. DISNEY films?!? Wow, you really showed up Amazin, didn't you Steve? And no bigger screen for the video iPod? Wow.
