Brian Valentine is leaving Microsoft for Amazon.com. Lots of folks over on minimsft place a lot of the Vista blame on Brian, but I don't know ... at least when I worked on Windows 2000, things were looking pretty bleak until Brian showed up and finally decided to ship it. Of course, I didn't work on Windows again after that (I can't really count Project Max, since we were fairly insulated from the rest of Windows, thankfully).

And you, as I recall, you lasted for less time on Max than you did at AMZN? :)
Nope! I was on Max from Dec. 2004 till June 2005. Although I'll admit I wasn't at my peak of productivity as a PM there.
