Am I ... an Apple guy?

So today, I just had to rush to the Apple Store to get the iPod Nano ... The pictures do NOT do it justice, by the way -- go see one if you can. I bought it sight unseen because we couldn't find a parking place outside the store (not because of a Nano-rush, though, just because you can NEVER find a spot there), so Laurel just jumped in and got it for me.

She is now aghast that I am a first-day Apple product buyer ... and that as I was talking about how the iTunes 5.0 upgrade lost some of my data, but that I was OK with that because I was looking forward to cleaning stuff out, she pointed out that I was also an Apple Apologist! Noooooooo!

Of course, a long time ago, I was so into Apple that I'd go to the Dillards department store just to play with the Mac on display there, long before I could buy one. I still prefer the PC (Sony PCs, specifically) and Windows XP, but Apple hardware is starting to creep into my life -- you can't beat the 23" Cinema Display I have (well, except with the 30") and I now technically have *two* iPods (the original and the nano -- Laurel has a Mini, which doesn't look so "mini" next to the nano!)

Not aghast, merely amused. Ask Dave how many mp3 players he went through before succumbing to the ipod (which he only did when I replaced my original with a mini).

Oooh. Wow. You play music on an Apple device?! And you work at Microsoft?! Oooh. Wow. This is not a technological win on Apple's part, but an aesthetic one. Nothing new there. Not to sayt that that is not an important part of the "battle" mind you! After all, you dropped what, around $300?, on a device because it was, essentially, pretty. (P.S. Can I borrow one of your old MP3 players?)
