Now Taking Applications

With the trade of Randy Winn to the Giants last night, I find myself in need of a new favorite Mariner. My preference would be for every guy on the 25-man roster to submit an essay of 1000 words or less telling me why he should be my new guy. Somehow, I'm thinking that's not going to happen. Here are the rules: the salary cannot be over $5 million/year (extra bonus points if it's less than $1 million) - those guys don't need me - and the player has to play at least half the games. Pitchers need not apply. Frontrunners so far: Willie Bloomquist (he was my backup favorite anyway) and Raul Ibanez. Suggestions are welcome.
