Upcoming races and training

After my incredibly mediocre performance in the Minnie 15K in May, I decided to get a bit more serious about my running. The races I have scheduled are:

Super Jock and Jill Labor Day Half Marathon - Woodinville
Tower of Terror 13K - October - Walt Disney World
Goofy's Marathon and a Half - January - also at WDW

I'm lucky because I've been trading emails with someone else who is doing the October race as well as the WDW Half Marathon. That really helps with my training, which is 3-4 short runs during the week, 1 long run on the weekend, strength training 2 days a week, and yoga 3-4 times a week. The yoga really helps with the running.

Today's long run was 1 mile warm up, 8 mile run, and 1 mile cool down. My pace was 30 seconds slower than I wanted it to be, but it was HOT out (even at 9AM). Just the same, I still felt like 10 miles warranted treating myself to some new workout clothes today.

I use my Nike+ for my treadmill runs - you can see my latest of those at the top of this blog. I use my Garmin 305 for my outdoor runs, but I haven't felt like posting those here.
