Monday wrap up: that's a lot of Art

Monday was busy with catching the east coast feed of 24 - awesome - and then speeding off to Benaroya Hall to attend a lecture by Art Spiegelman.

The lecture was packed! Who knew that many Seattle-ites would show up for a lecture the author was calling Comics 101.1? I first saw his work when I was in college, and I have a copy of Maus with a price tag from the UT Book and Supply Store to prove it. Anyway, the lecture was great. Even Dave looked like he was enjoying himself every now and then. While we were there Dave confessed a desire to go to the Emerald City Comicon, but I can't tell if he's joking or not.

24 - why I love actor James Morrison. The look on Bill Buchanan's face when Kiefer called to say he had broken into the Russian consulate and taken a hostage. Why I love the character Bill Buchanan - he begins to make a plan to extract Kiefer but doesn't let the White House know. So who thinks the writers are going to pull a Tony with Wayne Palmer and leave him in critical condition for 8 episodes or so and then uncerimoniously kill him off. Note to the producers - please do not bring us President Sandra Palmer in season 7. BTW, where's Milo? Is he off killing another TV series?

On the topic of Art, for unwary Seattle-ites: you may see billboards for a production of 12 Angry Men with George Wendt around town. Dave and I saw George Wendt in a production of Art in London's West End. He was really, really bad in it. You have been warned.
